Heaven

Revelation 21

In Chapter 21 of the Revelation, John is giving us a firsthand description of the characteristics of Heaven.

“Then I saw “a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.” Revelation 21:1 NIV

The first characteristic is that it is NEW!

The New Jerusalem is New! The earth has been made New!  You are not going to live in eternity in a heaven somewhere up in the depths of the universe.  You are going to live with Jesus on a newly created heaven and earth.

This new Heaven and Earth will have no “sea”.  John is not talking about water or oceans. Sea represents Separation. Here on earth the sea separates nations and people from one another.  There will be no separation in the new heaven and earth. Everyone’s house will be right beside Jesus. You will never be separated again from Him. You won’t be living in the countryside and go into the city to worship. You are living with Jesus! 

In our present minds we do not have any understanding of this. How can each of us live right next to Jesus? Well Jesus has explained this when He commented in 1 Corinthians 2:9. “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived the things God has prepared for those who love Him”.

Stop trying to understand Heaven and Jesus.  You do not have the capacity to comprehend it. It will be in a manner that you cannot understand.

Another characteristic is that it is Prepared Home.

“Prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.” Revelation 21: 2 NIV

Jesus also mentions this in the Gospel of John.

“I am going there to prepare a place for you”. John 14:2 NIV

God has made deliberate, intentional provision to welcome each of us personally into His presence. It assures you that you are not forgotten. You have a permanent, secure place in God’s family and kingdom. You have a special place in His heart.

Jesus is not preparing a place for Himself. Jesus is personally preparing a place for You!  With only You in thought and consideration.  This is your new home, made specifically for You! He knows what colors you like. He knows what flowers you want growing in the garden, and what aromas and smells you enjoy. It is a place prepared specifically for you to live with Him.  It is not made with others in mind. He is not making your place for your spouse or other members of your family. That is not to say they won’t be there, but each of us are going to see and experience the place made specifically for us by the hands of Jesus.

This is LOVE!

How do you feel when you are presented with a gift that someone has made by their own two hands specifically for you and you alone? Do you feel special and loved?  Well, that is what Jesus is doing and doing it in a manner that we cannot comprehend.

Heaven is for You!  Not your religion, not your church, not a place to be earned.  It is built by the hands of Jesus to be a place where you and Him can spend eternity together.

Invite me over to see your place when you see me in Heaven. It was made from Love just for You!

Remember it is not a religion it is a relationship.
